Fire and Rebuilding
It was in June of 2020 when the home of Prosthetic Plus was gone from the fire, but it was the team’s true colors and values of care pulling Prosthetic Plus through such a difficult time.
details and the aftermath
Lost and Found
Unfortunately upon investigation there was not a concrete answer on the cause of the fire. Only speculation of old faulty electrical work.
It was difficult for everyone to process the loss of this second home emotionally, as well as a great loss physically. Personal items, prosthetics in progress, equipment, paperwork and tools were all under one roof. This fire caused a ripple effect amongst customers, prosthetic technicians, and clinics. Some of it was salvageable, majority of it lost.
There were many hardships from transitioning to the new building, finding solutions for projects and customers (without a location), but with everyone helping they were able to make it through.
One business in particular, Walkabout, really went above and beyond helping Prosthetic Plus with 2 months worth of work until the new building was established in July of 2021.
The New Building
Although Prosthetic Plus could rebuild in their old location in Marshfield- there was new found welcomed opportunities presented by the Village of Spencer for growth.
The old building(photos below) in Marshfield is repaired and refaced. The new building in Spencer(photos left) was complete and became the new home for Prosthetic Plus.
